Our commitment to the environment and responsible sourcing
John Bitar & Company Limited is a long-standing participant in WWF's Global Forest & Trade Network (GFTN). In 2011, we were granted Controlled Wood (CW) and Chain of Custody (CoC) certification by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) [citation:6].
This certification demonstrates our ability to supply sustainable forest products and assures our buyers that the wood is sourced legally and responsibly. It was a crucial step following comprehensive High Conservation Value (HCV) assessments conducted to ensure responsible forest management practices [citation:2][citation:6].
FSC-C012345We are deeply concerned about the environment and have taken concrete steps to preserve it for future generations. This includes undertaking plantation development and reforestation projects at the Acheampim, Manzan, and Bia Tawya forest reserves [citation:1].
Our efforts have been recognized with the Forestry Award for Actively Engaging in Tree Growing in 1998 and another award in 2008 for our "Continuous Commitment to Environmental Stewardship" [citation:1].
